Our Ethos
RIGHTS BASED APPROACH
Our interpreting service is centred on a series of essential principles that focus on the belief that everyone has the right to speak and hear for themselves as well as freely express their own response.
RIGHT TO SPEAK
TRAINED PROFESSIONALS
RIGHT TO COMMUNICATION
We believe that everyone has the right to speak for themselves and determine how they want to express themselves.
We believe in treating the interpreter as the trained professional they are, with fair employment practices and pay.
We believe that everyone has equal rights to direct communication and participation in all matters that concern them.
INTERPRETER IS FACILITATOR
We believe it is the interpreters' responsibility to facilitate the communication and that an interpreter with integrity will frequently ask for clarification.
EDUCATE
We believe in encouraging organisations to respect these rights by using trained interpreters and raising awareness of how best to use interpreters.
Ethical Employment
Our belief that interpreting is a skilled profession is supported by our employment principles. Unlike many interpreting agencies we provide our interpreters with job security, a fair wage and travel expenses.
Nawzad
"I love interpreting. I could do it all day long!"
Nawzad began by interpreting for friends but he's obsessed with the English language. He is constantly learning new idioms and often can be found with a note book of new phrases. His most recent discovery is "don't hold your breath". Originally from Kurdistan, he's recently engaged!
